Well the football season for 2010 is over, with the two senior grand finals played yesterday at Jensen Park.
Our Reserve Grade won 2-1 against Fairfield Bulls with both goals scored by the veteran Nick Andreou. All the boys played remarkably well with special mention going to the youngsters Ryan Wearne (16yrs old), John Mamis (17), Tim Danaskos (17) and Dragan Draca (17).
The 1st Grade played some good football but were unlucky losers 2-1 to Fairfield Bulls with Fairfield scoring the winner via a penalty just before halftime. In the second half we tried to equalise and created many chances for goal but it wasn't to be our day this time. In a game that some players left left their best behind it was the two veterans in Terry S and Nick K in the defence that gave their all without the others following their example.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters (especially our U9A players and parents) who came to support us and we apologise for not making them as happy as a great win would have done. Oh well! That's life. Now for next year....
